How to install AdvancedModList on your Paper server.

Requirements

Requirement	Minimum
Server software	Paper or Paper-compatible fork
Minecraft version	1.20+
Java	17 or newer

Optional dependencies

• PlaceholderAPI — enables %aml_*% placeholders. The expansion registers automatically; no eCloud download needed.
• MySQL — required only for the multi-server data sync module.

Installation steps

1. Download the JAR

   Place the AdvancedModList-x.x.x.jar file into your server’s plugins/ folder.

2. Start the server once

   Start (or restart) the server. The plugin will generate all default configuration files.

3. Stop the server

   Stop the server so you can safely edit the generated config files.

4. Configure the plugin

   Edit plugins/AdvancedModList/config.yml, mods.yml, and any module files you need. See Configuration for details.

5. Restart and verify

   Restart the server, then run /aml probe <yourname> and /aml list <yourname> to confirm everything works.

Generated files

After the first start, the plugin creates:

Core config files

mods.yml	All tracked mods and their identifiers
blocked-mods.yml	Mods that trigger a blocked result
relevant-mods.yml	Gameplay-relevant mods checked in relevant mode

Module config files (in modules/)

auto-command.yml	Console commands triggered by scan results
bypass-detection.yml	Suspicious scan pattern analysis
gui.yml	In-game GUI settings

Language files (in lang/)

English (en), German (de), Spanish (es), French (fr), Portuguese (pt), Russian (ru), Turkish (tr), Korean (ko), Italian (it), Polish (pl), Dutch (nl), Swedish (sv), and Danish (da).

Updating

1. Stop the server.
2. Replace the old JAR with the new one.
3. Start the server.

Do not delete existing config files unless you want the plugin to regenerate defaults. Your customizations will be lost.

Quick verification

After installation, run these commands in-game:

/aml probe <yourname>
/aml list <yourname>

If PlaceholderAPI is installed:

/papi parse <yourname> %aml_clean%
